How to compare supermarket prices in Tashkent

Updated: 6 October 2026

The same carton of milk can cost noticeably different amounts in neighbouring stores — sometimes tens of percent. Here is how to compare prices quickly and fairly.

Why prices differ so much

  • Different chains — each has its own buying and mark-up.
  • Promotions — a discount runs for a week in one store and not at all in another.
  • Delivery vs. shelf — the price in a delivery app can differ from the tag in the store.
  • Packaging — 900 ml and 1 l look alike, but the price per litre is not.

Compare the same product

2.5% and 3.2% milk are different products, as are “classic” and “lactose-free” yoghurt. Compare one brand, flavour and size. If there is no exact match, look at similar items — but remember they may differ.

Work out the price per kilo or litre

The bigger pack is not always the better buy. Divide the price by the weight and you see where you pay for the food and where for the packaging. More on this in the article on price per kilogram.

Look at the whole basket

The best store is the one where your whole list is cheaper, not a single item. A 3,000-sum saving on cheese can vanish in overpaying for everything else.

Check whether a discount is real

If the “old” price lasted a single day, the saving is smaller than the tag suggests. A few weeks of price history show whether it is the usual price or a genuine deal.

Every day ArzonTop collects prices from the public catalogues of 20 Tashkent stores — Korzinka, Makro, Baraka, Yandex Lavka and more — shows the cheapest first, and works out the price per kg/l and the total for your whole basket.

The shelf price may differ

Catalogues update once a day, while a store can change a price during the day. Check the price tag before you buy — that is the safe way.
