Privacy policy

ArzonTop is a free app for comparing supermarket prices in Uzbekistan. It is developed by Said Isokov, a private individual. The app is built to know as little about you as possible.

In short

• No sign-up: the app never asks for your name, phone number or email.
• No ads, analytics or trackers.
• Favourites, the shopping list and settings are stored only on your phone.
• Location is used only to sort stores by distance and never leaves the phone.
• The developer receives data only when you choose to send a problem report about a product.

What is stored on the phone

• language and city;
• favourite products and the shopping list;
• recent searches;
• notification settings and which tips you have already seen;
• the downloaded price catalogue, so the app works offline.

All of this is deleted when you uninstall the app or use "Clear data" in Android settings.

What the app requests over the internet

The internet permission is needed to download prices. Requests contain no personal data and no device identifiers.

• The price catalogue, price history and the list of price drops for your chosen city are downloaded from GitHub Pages, where ArzonTop's files are hosted. Like any website, GitHub sees the request's IP address; the only thing about you in the request is the city name in the file address.
• Product photos are loaded from the servers of stores and delivery services.
• The "Our apps" list is also downloaded from GitHub Pages.

Price-drop notifications

Once a day the app downloads a small list of price drops in the background and compares it with your favourites on the phone itself. Your favourites are never sent anywhere. Notifications can be turned off in the app or in Android settings.

Location

On the store-locations screen the app may ask for approximate location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) to show the nearest stores. The coordinates are processed on the phone and never sent anywhere. If you decline, the list is simply not sorted by distance.

Problem reports

The "Report a problem" button sends the developer, via the Telegram Bot API, the product name, store, catalogue section, the reason you chose and your comment, if you wrote one. No name, phone number or device data is sent. Telegram processes the message under its own privacy policy.

If sending fails, the app opens your email app with a prepared message; in that case the developer sees your email address, as with any email.

Reports are used only to fix the catalogue. Please don't put personal data in the comment. Email me and the report will be deleted.

Google Play services

The app uses Google Play's built-in tools to ask for a rating and to install updates. These run on Google's side under Google's privacy policy. ArzonTop receives no information about you through them.

Sharing the list

The share button opens the standard Android share menu. The list goes only to whoever you choose.

Prices

Prices are gathered from the public catalogues of stores, updated daily and may differ from shelf prices. The app is for information only and is not affiliated with the stores.

Web version (arzontop.isokov.uz)

ArzonTop also runs in the browser, and it works the same way:

• language, city, favourites and the shopping list are kept in the browser on this device and never sent to a server;
• there is no sign-up, no ads and no analytics;
• the price catalogue comes from GitHub Pages and product photos from the stores' servers, as in the app;
• there are no price-drop notifications in the web version;
• a problem report from the browser is sent as an email through your mail app;
• like any website, the host sees the request's IP address — to deliver the page, not to track you.

Clearing the browser's data deletes your favourites and shopping list.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no information about them.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page is updated.
